Getting to the DC Baha'i Center via Public Transportation

The best way to find the most efficient route to the Bahá'í Center by public transportation is to call the METRO Line or use the trip planner at MetroOpensDoors.com.

Call the Metro Line at (202) 637-7000

  1. Tell them where you are.
  2. Tell them that you're going to the Bahá'í Center at 5713 Sixteenth Street, N.W. Washington DC, 20011
  3. Tell them what time you'd like to arrive.

They will tell you the most efficient route, times, and prices.

There are two bus routes that serve the Bahá'í Center: the S-1,2,3,4,5 and the E-2,3,4.

From the Friendship Heights metro stop on the Red line , take an E-2, 3, or 4 bus. Get off at the corner of Sixteenth and Military Road. Walk south three blocks to the corner of Montague and Sixteenth where there is a stop light. You will see the Center at the corner on the left side of the street.

From the Silver Spring metro stop on the Red line , take an S-1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. The bus will travel south on Sixteenth Street. Get off at 5713 Sixteenth Street. (The bus will stop about a block before or a block after the Center. When the bus crosses Military Road -- the Center is only three blocks away at the next light.)

From the Farragut West, McPherson Square, Metro Center, or Federal Triangle metro stops on the Blue/Orange line or from the Farragut North or Metro Center metro stops on the Red Line , take an S-1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 towards Silver Spring Station. The bus will travel north on Sixteenth Street. Get off at 5713 Sixteenth Street. (The bus will stop about a block before or a block after the Center. When the bus passes the Carter Baron Ampitheatre on the left -- the Center is about three blocks away at the next light.)

Getting to the DC Baha'i Center by Car

From the Beltway (495): From the Beltway, take the Silver Spring, Georgia Avenue Exit 31 going south. Once you are heading south on Georgia Avenue, stay in the right two lanes. After Seminary Road and an Exxon, the right two lanes will veer off onto Sixteenth Street. Follow Sixteenth Street going south for about 10 minutes. After crossing Military Road, you will find the Center on the left side at the next light which is at the corner of Sixteenth and Montague. Turn left onto Montague Street and park.

From 395 North: From 395 North in Virginia, take Route 1 into Washington onto 14th Street heading north. Turn left at I Street. Turn right on Sixteenth Street. Follow Sixteenth Street heading north for about 10 - 15 minutes. After passing the Carter Barron Amphitheater on your left, you will find the Center on the right side at the next light which is at the corner of Sixteenth and Montague. Turn right onto Montague and park.

From 66 East: Take 66 East into Washington from Virginia. Follow it to Constitution Ave (Route 55 West). Turn left onto 17th Street. Turn right onto H Street. Turn left onto 16th Street. Follow Sixteenth Street heading north for about 10 - 15 minutes. After passing the Carter Barron Ampitheatre on your left, you will find the Center on the right side at the next light which is at the corner of Sixteenth and Montague. Turn right onto Montague and park.
